Streams missionary training to expand

New schools train missionaries in 12 countries

By the end of 2022, 12 Tyrannus Missionary Schools will have trained nearly 230 missionaries to share God’s Word in some of the most unevangelized parts of the Arab world.

Many of these unreached areas are rife with persecution, and the newly trained evangelists must be willing to risk their lives for the sake of the gospel. Despite this risk, when graduates reach the field, stories pour in of miraculous healings and lives being changed.

In some African countries where Streams operates, access to Bible commentaries and study materials is scarce, even for pastors.

“If the pastors are hungry, their congregations are starving!” says Philip, Streams of Living Water’s CEO.

Tyrannus Missionary Schools are one of the ways Streams recruits, trains and sends national missionaries across the Arab world.

The seven-month-long schools equip students with training in the Bible, Muslim outreach, apologetics, evangelism and also a vocation to help sustain them on the field. After the training, Streams commissions students in teams of two for three years of ministry to reach the unreached people groups in their country, sharing the gospel, discipling new believers, planting churches and training church leaders.

Five of this year’s 12 schools were newly established in countries where Streams of Living Water had never run a Tyrannus school before. Streams is planning to open seven more schools in 2023.

It takes the help of many partners to begin a school in a new country. Streams workers must travel to and from a country, running exploratory conferences with local pastors, interviewing students and finding a place to host the school. The average cost to open a school is $50,000 to $70,000.

Each school session trains an average of 15–20 evangelists who together bring the hope of Christ to thousands of people during the three years they serve, often witnessing hundreds of confessions of faith.

Will you help train even more evangelists to reach people in 2023 through the work of Streams of Living Water? Your investment on Giving Tuesday will help open more Tyrannus Schools to spread God’s Word in some of the most difficult-to-reach parts of the world.
