A new generation of harvest workers

From Ghana to Chicago, God is using you to activate young adults for the Kingdom

Have you been praying that God will send workers into the harvest? Have you wondered who is going to spread the gospel to the unreached? Meet the 30 students who were part of the most recent class of the one-month Livingstone School of Missions (LSM) in Ghana. Across the ocean, 21 young adults have also been training for Kingdom work as summer interns at OneWay’s U.S. headquarters in Aurora, IL.

The 30 LSM students represented 10 different nations from all over Africa, including Uganda, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Nigeria, and Rwanda. The month of June consisted of physical coaching, support-raising instruction and apologetics classes, as well as language and culture training to prepare them for the remote villages of Northern Ghana.

But the students weren’t just training for future ministry: they participated in real-life missionary experience. They started their training by spending a night alone with the Lord to pray about where He is calling them. The students also spoke about missions in local high schools, held an outreach at the University of Ghana and went on a mission trip to Ablekumba, a rural district west of Accra.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., a group of high school and college students from various states and four different countries, have been working hard in their various internship roles: communications, audio, video, administration and digital evangelism.

“I need to pray for the countries I am seeing on the screen,” said Sarang Hyung, a Prayercast video production intern. “By seeing the videos I feel more humble … There might be a reason I am privileged to know God: so I can spread his Word.”

As you pray for new workers to enter the harvest field, also remember to praise God for the young men and women who have eagerly accepted His plan for their summer. The Kingdom workforce is growing in number as God prepares the nations to receive the gospel. The nations are ready, and so are we.
