How the current crisis is affecting our partners worldwide: A letter from our Africa Team

Dear Friends,

We from OneWay Africa would like to update you on our current situation.

On March 15th, all schools in Ghana closed and all gatherings, including church services, were prohibited.

This affected the Jesus Film outreaches run by the OneWay Africa missionaries on the field. It also affected our mobilization efforts at university and schools, amongst other projects.

Also, starting today, March 30th, we have a two-week lockdown in certain parts of the country affected by Covid-19.

Amid everything going on in Africa and around the world, we are committing to intense and fervent prayer.

We are also creating ways of doing ministry, including distributing the word of God through the BiblePlus+ audio player wifi system and using cellular and online systems for disciple-making and mentoring.

We want to encourage you with two Scriptures the Lord has encouraged us with in challenging times like these :

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Rom. 8:28

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Prov. 3:5-6

Please pray:

  • For God's glory to be seen by all in times like this

  • That the Lord will intervene in the spread of the coronavirus in Africa and the world

  • For safety and protection for our staff, board, partners, missionaries and hundreds of volunteers/associates on the mission-field across Africa

  • For wisdom and insight into creative ways to share the gospel and make disciples in these times

For His Glory,

Ray Mensah and OneWay Africa Team
