Tax efficient giving from your IRA

Minimize the tax bite while maximizing gospel impact

With Qualified Charitable Distributions, your retirement investments can become investments in the Kingdom.

At age 72 and older, the US government mandates Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from your IRA. When taking these distributions, you will be required to pay income tax at your respective tax rates.

People who are age 70 ½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution. It is limited to IRAs, and there are other exclusions and considerations as well.

With a Qualified Charitable Distribution, you can give directly from your IRA and legally avoid taxes on the entire portion given. Furthermore, this will count toward your Required Minimum Distribution.

Here are just some of the potential benefits of sending your a QCD from your IRA directly to OneWay Ministries:

  • Lower your taxable income

  • Help reach even more people through your partnership with OneWay

  • Avoid penalties for failing to make a required distribution

  • Donate up to $100,000 not subject to the deduction limits on charitable donations
