Get to know the OneWay team! This week we'd like to introduce you to one of the people working behind the scenes at OneWay to help Reach People.
Katie O’Malley joined OneWay as a year-long resident in August, and has been loving the experience. She lives at the OneWay interns home, called The Blue House.
“In 2021 I realized I was in a unique season of my life, with freedom to pack up and go do something much different for a time,” Katie says. She knew OneWay and many of its staff from having lived in Naperville years ago. “OneWay’s residency program for young adults ended up being a huge open door from the Lord.”
“What I love about the OneWay team is their love of God and heart as a ministry for His goals and purposes,” Katie says. Her role on the communications team is to help share the heart, mission and stories of OneWay to ministry partners as well as handle some administrative tasks.
Philippians 3:13-14 is Katie’s favorite passage of scripture: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
When Katie isn’t typing madly on her laptop, you might find her reading a book or tidying something. For a productive day, she likes to sit in a quiet corner somewhere with a friend or two nearby.
