Digital Evangelism: A Father's Dying Wish

2 min read

Before Hiram died, he had one final wish for his five-year-old son, Isaac.

“God willing, may you die only in the Christian faith."

Whatever Hiram’s own faith may have been, he wanted his son to be a Christian. Although Isaac grew up in a Muslim nation, he had some Christian friends. He joined them in celebrating their holidays and became familiar with their way of life.

“I came to love Jesus even though I wasn't His follower," Isaac said.

But in Isaac's country, publicly professing faith in Christ is extremely dangerous. Although he wanted to follow Jesus, he kept his desire to himself.

Then tragedy struck his country, forcing Isaac to flee to another nation. There, for the first time, he found himself in a place where he could safely pursue his desire to follow Christ.

To learn how to become a Christian, Isaac turned to the internet. During his search, he came across OneWay's Digital Evangelism website and found an invitation to learn more about the Christian faith.

Hoping he had finally found the help he was looking for, Isaac responded:

“I ask you to help me with everything that will lead me to become a follower of Christ.”

One of our digital evangelists connected with Isaac and asked him why he wanted to become a Christian.

"My late father gave me this instruction when I was five years old. He said to me, 'God willing, may you die only in the faith of Christ.' My father passed away a long time ago, but his instruction remains in my mind and heart."

After the gospel was clearly presented, Isaac prayed to receive Christ. Praise the Lord!

Isaac's story is one of many unfolding through OneWay's Digital Evangelism ministry. Please pray that others who are searching for truth online will encounter Jesus and find salvation in Him.
