ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Laura Van Huis is a passionate Bible teacher who first discovered the transformative power of inductive Bible study after a humbling moment in 1997 — failing a required Bible test before heading to Ghana as a missionary. That moment began a lifelong journey through Scripture: from reading and studying to teaching and now training others to study and teach God’s Word.
Based in Chicagoland, she leads weekly women’s Bible studies, drawing participants from diverse churches and background and equipping others to discover biblical truth for themselves. A wife to Michael and mom to five, she loves playing tennis, making music, and connecting deeply in her vibrant church community.

Rachel Thompson is the cofounder of OneWay Ministries. She finds great joy in being a part of a team working to reach people for Christ and loves inspiring others to embrace the unique role God has given them. An avid reader of Christian biographies, Rachel draws wisdom and encouragement from the lives of faithful men and women of the past.
She is also the author of Letters to Erin: Inviting Younger Women to Live Wholly and Fruitfully for God. Rachel and Michael have been married for 32 years and have eight children.
