MY STORY
Dr. Powers, my strategic writing professor,
always reminds us that childlikeness makes the most room for creativity. One day in class, he gave us a provoking prompt: “Dig back into your unconscious creativity you had as a child when you didn’t care what other people thought about you.”
Memories flooded my mind of writing and illustrating stories for my family. The years of creating stories, poetry, songs, paintings, and drawings were no longer simply juvenile fascination in my memory but reminders that all along the Lord has given me a creative release that I can partner with Him in and give Him honor through.
Though I have always been a writer, it has taken up until recent years for me to confidently accept that identity through seasons of unlearning and solidifying my identity in Him. God resurrected my dreams and passions that the enemy had stifled with burnout and fear. He reminded me of the gifts that He has given me and His charge to steward my gifts and callings well as I obey the plan that He has for my life.
In light of this, I am earning a bachelor’s degree in communications with a journalism concentration and will be entering into my
senior year at Regent University in the fall. As I wrestled with the Lord about what internship I should pursue, I was at a loss trying to find one that aligned with the niche desire that the Lord has put inside of me. Ultimately, my heart’s cry echoed Moses’ in Exodus 33:15, “‘If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.’” Eventually, through research and prayer, I knew that OneWay Ministries was the one and watched as the Lord opened doors and everything easily slipped into place.
This summer, through my internship with OneWay Ministries, I will be stretched and sharpened in my gifts so God may receive glory from my work in greater measure. I am so excited about the beautiful, Jesus loving community I will be surrounded with. I hope to grow in connection with both them and God as we worship Him through prayer, song, communion, play, and working with excellence. Because every good thing has come from Him, He can be found and praised in everything. I cannot wait to see all that He does in and through me as well as through the beautiful OneWay Ministries community that He has led me to.

MY GOALS

Develop and implement initiatives to engage believers in the Great Commission including print materials and digital marketing.

Create content and ideas to express the heart, mission and vision of OneWay and communicate events, initiatives and special projects.

Support the ministries of OneWay by telling key stories of global impact in visual media pieces.

Grow spiritually through group teaching times, individual mentorship, small group discipleship, corporate prayer and worship events.
