MY STORY
The Lord used prayer to save my life. He has used prayer to guide my life and my schooling, and now the Lord is using prayer to form and drive my vocation.
The past seven years, the power of prayer has grown increasingly evident in my life. When facing life and death situations, it pushes you to look beyond what resources and answers the world can offer, and instead to the only One who is all-knowing and all-powerful. In fact, prayer is why the circle around me is the way it is — because countless people have prayerfully come alongside our family as health trials put my life at risk.
But recently, I’ve gotten to experience prayer in a new way. This year, the necessity of prayer has not just been something I’ve been a recipient of, but something that has begun to be the driving force behind every aspect of my life, as I realized that there’s simply nothing I, or anyone, can do out of our own strength. In health, in school, in serving, and in the day to day, it has become an essential precursor to all action.
Though I gave much thought to this necessity, it was not until this summer — during an internship at OneWay Ministries — that the Lord opened my eyes to what He desires to do for the nations through prayer. For the first time, hands-on work and
intercession collided, and I quickly fell in love with the combination. It fleshed out the findings of the past years: that nothing of noteworthy effectiveness is completed without prayer, and there is much to be done to help the world know this power.
For ten weeks I got to live immersed in this world: with my main role being acquiring prayer recordings from the nations for OneWay’s prayer ministry — Prayercast — with the goal of helping activate the global Church to pray for the unreached. And as I neared the end of the summer, it was clear my heart had been changed. My heart now beats not just physically because of prayer but for prayer, with expectancy for what God wants to do through His people for His world.
I believe it now more than ever that prayer not only changes lives on earth, but also for eternity. With this in mind, it is a total honor to get to step into a full-time role leaning into this passion: connecting with people and organizations worldwide with the goal of activating the Church to pray.
There’s much ground to cover to reach the nations, and I want to invite you into this alongside me — the passion, and the work, and the real-time results. I am building a team of both financial and prayer partners for this endeavor, and it would be a true privilege to have you on it.
