MY STORY
During my freshman year of high school, I watched a video that told a cinematic story of tragedy occurring in another country. Overlaying the audio was a powerful prayer for peace and restoration for the people in that country. I remember feeling moved to pray, even though I had no ties to that place. This was the first time I experienced the worldwide connection of Christians through the power of media ministry.
Since I was a kid, I have loved all things creative — photography, video, design, journalism — everything. But how could I use these interests for ministry when they weren’t the traditional ways of serving that I knew? How could I combine my passion for the Lord with my draw toward creativity?
Watching that video in high school made me realize how it could be done. After all, 1 Corinthians 12:14–20 talks about how everyone has a role and a responsibility in building the Kingdom of God. God has used creative Christians all over the world in powerful ways.
I am now in my senior year as a Communications major at Moody Bible
Institute in Chicago. After I graduate in December, I believe my calling is to assist organizations in communications through media marketing.
Want to hear a crazy not-so coincidence? That video that I watched back in high school was created by Prayercast, a branch of OneWay, located in the suburbs of Chicago. During my sophomore year of college at Moody, a representative from OneWay came to one of my classes to share about an internship opportunity. Little did I know that five years after first hearing about OneWay, I would be living in Chicago and pursuing that very internship. God has so clearly had His hand in ordaining my steps toward OneWay.
So, what specifically will I be doing as an intern this summer? I’ll be on the Communications track, using my creative skills for social media, marketing and donor appreciation work.

MY GOALS

Work with the Communications Team to develop and implement a strategy for initiatives that include creating print materials, designing social media posts and coordinating ministry events.

Help create content ideas to express the heart, mission and vision of OneWay, as well as communicate events, initiatives and special projects.

Grow spiritually through group teaching times, individual mentorship, small group discipleship, corporate prayer and worship events.

Build relationships as part of a young adult team that lives together in community housing. I'll attend retreats, staff lunches and worship with interns and the ministry team.
