MY STORY
I’ve always found joy and fulfillment in serving others, but I never knew this was a gift from the Lord. I always simply trusted that God would take me exactly where He needed me to be, exactly when I needed to be there. In college, despite the fact that most of my peers were not believers, I found myself connecting with the Lord more, but I still didn’t have a clear idea of what He wanted to do with my life. After graduating, I learned about OneWay Ministries and their heart for the Lord as I attended their monthly worship gatherings. So, feeling led, I applied for an internship the following summer! It was a wonderful summer as I got to intern as their “utility player,” applying my passion to serve others to further His Kingdom!
It was during this time that it truly occurred to me that my capacity and love for serving and doing the tasks that no one else wanted to do was a spiritual gift.
Upon completion of the summer internship, I remained surrendered to God’s plan and felt Him leading me to continue using my newfound gifts at OneWay.
God has created an amazing team of talented people here using their unique gifts
to reach the nations. The video editors on the Prayercast team help lead 100,000 people in prayer for the world every day. The OneWay Africa team has helped lead over 50,000 people to faith in Christ since 2012. The Heart Bible for the Nations team has trained almost 4,000 people how to share Bible stories in countries where it’s more dangerous to own a Bible.
So, I ask myself: “What do I have to contribute to this incredible work?” Answer: a heart for service! I feel called to serve this team in any way that will help them reach more people with the gospel — whether that’s thanking donors, making lunch on Wednesdays, taking out the trash, or any other task that would otherwise distract our team from their primary mission, I want to do it so they reach more people. At OneWay, my role is to do “whatever it takes to reach unreached people with the gospel.” I am open, ready and excited to grow myself and His Kingdom as I continue my work here.
