MY STORY
Missions work is something I have always admired but never saw as an option for myself. However, during this spring semester of my sophomore year, ministry has been a recurring theme.
I was attending a missions and evangelism conference when the speaker began discussing missions in Africa. We were asked to think about where God may be calling us to spread the gospel. The next day, I was reading for a class and the main focus of the article was missionary work in Africa. This seemed like coincidence, but I felt the Lord was placing this on my heart, even though it was not in my plan.
At this point, I had applied for an internship
at OneWay, which is a family of missions and media ministries. OneWay focuses on training and sending missionaries in Africa and the Middle East, as well as creating media to rally believers to pray for unreached people around the world.
After these back-to-back discussions on the
topic of missions, my eyes and heart were
opened to see God’s path for me. Once I accepted that this is where I was being called, I was able to recognize the passion I had for missions work. I knew that OneWay was an organization I wanted to work with, and I surrendered my mindset that missions work was not for me and began praying for God to open that door.
I accepted a summer internship at OneWay, which will allow me to grow professionally, while also living in a vibrant Christian community and being mentored spiritually.
I was drawn to OneWay because of their vision and the practical work they do, which graciously spreads the gospel and provides long-term tools and skills to those they are ministering to. I am eager to grow spiritually and in work experience while striving to further the Kingdom.
I joyfully invite you to join with me in this ministry through financial and/or prayerful support!
