Have you ever had your plans change? You have everything planned down to the smallest detail, and then, in the blink of an eye, they are made void. It’s certainly not on the list of things I enjoy most in life. But after a simple phone call with a friend a few months ago, everything about my summer changed.

I woke up that Sunday morning confident that my summer would be filled with my simple 9–5 job. In August, I would start a residency program at my local church. Then, I called my friend Isaac. It was just a normal conversation between two friends about what we were planning. The conversation drifted to a video project I worked on that semester, and I expressed how much I enjoyed video editing. Isaac then told me that the ministry he works for, OneWay Ministries, was looking for one more video editor for their summer internship.

I initially laughed at his proposal. I studied Pastoral Ministry in college, not video editing, but we both agreed to pray about it and talk again the next day. I hung up the phone and began praying. It seemed clear, at least, that a door was opening. What followed was a week of God removing basically every obstacle between me and interning with OneWay for the summer.

At the end of the week, I was typing out my acceptance email. But my finger hovered over the send button. I felt as if I was standing on a cliff holding onto a rope. It became clear that God wanted me to jump into His arms below. I counted to three and hit send and... well, nothing exciting happened. But I felt an incredible sense of peace about the decision that I had made.

One of the questions I had struggled with in the decision was whether I was “good enough” to be at OneWay. A heavy question shook the foundation of what I believed my calling to be: Can a pastor be a video editor? The answer I found is a resounding yes! And... can a video editor be a pastor? The answer is also yes! If the chief end of man is to glorify God, then that is what I will do in whatever capacity He allows me to do so.

And this summer that means editing Prayercast videos for OneWay Ministries to help rally world-changing prayer for people who don't know Him yet.

Would you prayerfully consider helping me reach this internship’s financial goals? Please join me in praying that my time at OneWay glorifies God. Pray that He strengthens me and provides opportunities to serve others. Finally, pray that He uses me this summer to reach people around the world.

Work with OneWay Studios to create Prayercast videos to rally millions around the world to pray for the lost.

Grow in my skills as a videographer, video editor and producer as I work alongside a team that is producing media to bring multitudes to Christ.

Build relationships as part of a young adult team that lives together in community housing. I'll attend retreats, staff lunches and worship with the ministry team.

Grow spiritually through group teaching times, individual mentorship, small group discipleship, corporate prayer and worship events.
