Summary:

 

We are looking for a Communications Manager to help communicate the message of OneWay both internally and externally. Candidates should have exceptional skills in all areas of communication, including writing, editing, design, web site creation and social media. The Communications Manager is expected to be a strategic thinker with attention to detail, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines.

 

The Communications Manager is passionate about storytelling and understands how to effectively use different media channels to keep partners informed of what is happening in the ministry. The ideal candidate will be able to help lead a communications team. He or she should be innovative, organized and self-motivated, with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan the communications calendar and oversee the creation of daily, weekly, quarterly and annual content

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy for initiatives that includes the creation of print materials, web pages and social media

  • Help write and edit copy for all initiatives, including print materials, web site and social media

  • Has an eye for design and can work with team to help select graphics to accompany articles and social media posts

  • Has a passion for social media and thinks creatively about new and innovative ways to use social channels; Oversees social media strategy for all platforms and helps plan and implement content

  • Manage OneWay web site and make sure it is up to date

  • Manage projects to ensure content is ready for publication by established deadlines

  • Oversee the creation of content ideas to express the heart, mission and vision of the organization, as well as communicate events, initiatives and special projects

  • Adhere to the organization’s style guide, ensuring the production of high-quality and error-free copy

  • Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with OneWay’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives

  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with a concentration in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field from an accredited college or university

  • Experience and success in writing, graphic design or digital marketing

  • Intermediate skills in email marketing, social media platforms, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress

  • Understanding of marketing, fundraising, and non-profit organizations desired

  • Experience leading a team is preferred 

  • General understanding of the Bible, the Great Commission, the Christian church and global nonprofits preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of marketing tools, resources and social media.

  • Self-starter with creative ability to problem-solve as work and solutions evolve.

  • Operates with a servant’s heart and a strong work ethic.

Spiritual Life:

Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and agree with the OneWay Statement of Faith. 

Compensation Statement:

OneWay has various compensation models, including individual support-raising, stipends and salaried positions. Compensation is dependent on the individual and the position. Preference will be given to candidates who are willing to raise support, but others will be considered. Position is 25 hours per week.
