Bearing fruit in a desert land

“Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” Psalm 2:8

owmmissions2The OneWay Botswana team aims to reach their own people with the gospel.

Having surveyed 84 towns and villages in the northern region of the AIDS-ravaged nation in 2006, the team found that some 63 had no church presence whatsoever.

In the past few years, OneWay’s Director of African Ministries, Ray Mensah, and a full-time team of Botswana nationals have steadily begun making inroads into many of these communities. As God raises up more workers, tools and resources, the team plans to extend its reach throughout the region.

Accessing these far-flung places in the challenging, wide-open terrain of the Olkavanga Delta isn’t easy, but through evangelism, Bible storytelling and sports ministry we are seeing God do amazing things in areas that have been previously hardened to the gospel.

Based in the city of Maun, the team is also having a strategic impact among the schools and prisons of this, Botswana’s third largest city.
