An exciting door has opened for OneWay to establish ongoing, gospel-advancing work in Ghana this year and we believe God has great things in store.
While the southern part of this nation has been widely impacted by Christianity, there remain dozens of people groups in the north among whom there is little gospel witness. Animism and Islam hold sway over millions. Our heart is drawn to focus our efforts on these, in part by helping to mobilize the church in the south to go.
As OneWay leaders in the U.S. and in Africa have talked and prayed over the future, the vision has crystallized for OneWay to adopt one of these people groups for focused ministry in the years ahead.
By raising prayer support, partnering with others and mobilizing short and long-term workers, it is our hope that at least one unreached people group in northern Ghana will have its name removed from the list of those “least reached” by the gospel of Jesus Christ in the years to come.
OneWay Africa’s Director, Ray Mensah, recently completed an extensive survey trip of northern Ghana. After researching people groups, learning what other missionaries and organizations are doing and surmising where the greatest opportunties lie, he is now making plans for where he believes God would have us focus our efforts in the days to come.
Please pray with us for God’s direction. Pray that a people currently living in darkness would see His great light (Matthew 4:16) and be saved to the praise of His glory!
