A: Summers at OWM are crazy and fun with 15-20 college interns, plus some junior interns. Interns work full-time 5 days a week on projects that advance the gospel around the world, geared toward building their skill sets. Out-of-town interns live together in a community house which allows a greater emphasis on community and social activities outside of the workday. Interns participate in 45 minutes a day of topical group discipleship sessions, and have the opportunity for personal mentorship as well. Many students use this internship for college credit and our team works with their school to help the student meet their specific requirements.
Semester internships bring an intern more into the inner and everyday workings of OWM. They are geared toward an intern who has at least 2 days a week to serve at OWM (at least 12 hours). Host homes may be available. The intern becomes a part of OWM’s staff and works on projects that advance the gospel around the world, geared toward building their skill sets. Semester Internships are flexible with start and ending dates and work hours can be worked around the intern’s existing work or school schedule. Many students use this internship for college credit.
A: OWM views the internship program as an education offering. Interns will gain valuable skills and experience in ministry and in their skilled area. They will also be surrounded and discipled by people whose heart is to be fully committed to Christ and His Kingdom. We are unique in that we train and educate students in their field as well as develop them spiritually.
A: After submitting the online application, the OneWay team will review the application & work samples and contact the applicant within two weeks. The next step is an interview, preferably face-to-face, either in-person or via Skype or VSee, followed by a potential offer to intern with us.
A: The summer internship has a program fee, which varies each year depending on the projects/events planned. See this year’s cost here.
A: Sumer interns are able to raise support up to $3,000 through OneWay Ministries for a summer internship to cover the program fee and any financial needs they have. (add the support page link here) Students are also able to get a part-time job in the evenings or weekends.
A: Appropriate business casual attire.
