Reaching the Unreached in Northern Ghana
After years of ministry in Botswana, OneWay Africa is expanding its work into the nation of Ghana, where 21 people groups remain unreached by the gospel.
After much prayer and surveying, we have launched Operation Konkomba, a widespread evangelistic work among the nearly 600,000 Konkomba people of northern Ghana, less than 2% of whom are Christians.
Of the hundreds and hundreds of Konkomba villages without a gospel witness, dozens are actually begging for churches to be planted among them. In fact, the Konkomba are known to be the most receptive of the yet unreached people groups in the region. Truly, these fields are ripe for harvest and OneWay Africa is eagerly taking up the role of spearheading and coordinating a broad ministry effort among them.

An example of the drinking water in a Konkomba village
As the work begins, God is showing us several ways that we can holistically minister to the people as way to open their hearts to the gospel.
Clean Water: One major need most Konkomba face is for clean drinking water. The water currently used and consumed on a daily basis is so contaminated that most of us wouldn’t even want it touching our skin. It causes much sickness and suffering that we would like to help alleviate through water sanitization and wells.
Schools: Another open door for ministry is through education. Most Konkomba children have little to no chance at going to school. By helping the people develop small, village based schools equipped with a teacher, we aim to help educate the Konkomba children and introduce them to the God who made them.

The Word of God: Thirdly, the Word of God is essential in any church-planting endeavor. Through our OneVoice ministry, it is our goal to get a small, handheld unit containing an audio Bible, worship, teaching and testimonies in the local language into as many far-flung Konkomba villages as possible. Each unit costs about $100 to prepare and distribute to people who never heard the gospel before.
A Team Effort
Seeing an unreached people group taken off the list of unreached peoples takes a team. Thankfully, there are already a handful of believers among the Konkomba willing to be trained to help reach their own people. Many churches and organizations in southern Ghana are also willing to become a part of the effort. But they will also need a team of intercessors and donors standing with them.
